A plot I want to see…
You know how there’s always this trope where white invaders to some other country get mistaken for a god and fucking IMMEDIATELY use this to their advantage?
Just once, I’d love to see the white person in question categorically deny all aspects of godhood. Straight off the bat. Like, they’re so vehemently against being a deity that they’re willing to die to prove they’re a mortal.
And yet - every time they set out to prove their mortality [Ask the natives what they have to do, of course, to prove there merely human] they wind up fulfilling some kind of deity sign by PURE ACCIDENT.
It ramps up in incredibility to the point where they get a sign that even they can’t deny… and still the lure of absolute power does not corrupt them. They use their powers for good, including protecting the area from greedy SOB’s.
The only caveat? They’re only godlike when inside the area of belief. When they step out into the modern world, they’re a regular average human again. This part could be played for laughs.
