Pretty much done with colouring the characters. Apart from some detail cleanup, which I will fuss with, later.
I bought the sketch layer up to the top so I could focus on the lettering. I got most of the way through Rabbit’s before I got a massive crick in the neck and had to stop.
Dijano that colouring errors show up way better when the background is an interesting colour? Well, that’s what I learned, today.
Part 8 and final of my _Sleep Evil Sleep_ storyboard project.
::Deep breath in:: WHOOOOF! And that’s that done with for now.
I’ve fought my own inner demons and this imagining is more about my path to accepting my own ‘evil’ and giving it a place more than anything Bunny does with hers.
In my experience, fighting the inner darkness only ends up hurting yourself. Ignoring it only makes it bigger. Accepting it as a part of you and giving it a job - that works out more-or-less okay. That, and a whole mess of classic kids’ literature references is what I got out of this wonderful song.
Tune in sometime in the not-so-distant future to laugh at observe a writer attempting to refine these into halfway decent art for a halfway decent mockett video.
THRILL! as I learn how to art all over again!
GAPE! in amazement as I fuck up in new and interesting ways!
WONDER! at how daft I am as I learn how to pull this thing off!
As always - if you think you can make something better out of this mess, you are welcome. But please share because I will probably want to hug you for doing it.
Many thank, all those who have been following this heinous mess.
_Sleep Evil Sleep_ storyboard project part 7
I’m almost done with this phase of this darn thing! Huzzah!
_Sleep Evil Sleep_ storyboard project part 6
6 frames because I have extra time to screw around. Also 6 seems to be the limit before my screen gets overwhelmed with my epithelials and I have to go clean that nonse off.
Then I ponder all the other things I could be doing with my spare time and usually rack off to do that.
I’m officially on the second page of doodles now. Yays. And I might yet do more frames tomorrow.
As always - anyone who can make something better is welcome to do it. Just share it with me ‘cause I wanna see what happened.
_Sleep Evil Sleep_ storyboard project part 5
Making myself laugh is the only way I can get through this. Rest assured that I don’t intend to be mean at Bunny’s expense. I’ve been in the places where Bunny is singing about in this song and I’ve found that laughing, even at really dumb jokes, helps me a lot. Hence the weird little captions in the actual art.
They won’t be there if I actually ever get around to doing a proper animatic. Promise. [Unless one of the band up and tells me to keep them]
Missing: Bunny’s butt bow in the last frame. FUCK.
_Sleep Evil Sleep_ storyboard project part 4
My asthma meds are making me super shaky today, so this is as much as I feel comfy doing. Sorry.
Plus my tablet/pen combo is playing up and not registering half of my movements. Which is why you get wobblier lines than what passes for normal. Trivia: All the cards are Spades because those are the ‘soldier’ cards. IDK I just thought it might be cool.
As always, smarter/more able people are welcome to turn this crap into gold. Just let me know it exists, I would be so grateful.
_Sleep Evil Sleep_ storyboard project part 2
Moar! I engaged Cheaty McCheaterson mode today to result in the least work for the most results.
I think I can manage a grand total of two actual drawings a day (cheating doesn’t count lol) before my angst can’t take it any more. Sorry.
On one hand I wanna get this DONE and inspire people, but on the other hand I feel like I really suck and shouldn’t bother showing this to anyone.
Smarter/more able people than I are welcome to use this as a basis to make something better than this crap.
I just remembered how much arting on an iPad firkin SUCKS
This is as far as I got before FGSFDS hit. I’m thinking of doing shapes on Photoshop at this point. And clipart. It can’t suck worse than doing it this way :P
Thinking out loud. Or thinking on a piece of paper.
Pondering how to use the beads I have and the findings I have to their maximum when I have just realized how little I really have.
I do, however, have loads of these weird, trilobal things that can stack and give an interesting look. If I do gradients, I could get some interesting effects.
And for all of the “faceted bullet” beads that I sorted, I have surprisingly few of one colour.
I might have to go to a bulk bead place and see what I can get. Later. After I run (mostly) out of stash.
The “Pat :P” comment is about the “snowman stack” of Large+medium+small round beads of the same colour. It’s boring. IDEK if people want that any more.
Bonus material - samples of the pride flag earrings all ready for customers.
This is what I’ve been doing instead of doodling. Nice and ready for chopping, piercing, and folding.
What do you think?
