chimera-manticore-deactivated20 asked, "Cosmo and Cosmica becoming friends after the incident with the Astronaut"

I think Cosmo would have the opportunity to teach Cosmica a whole lot about life and humans and stuff.  I’m not sure she would like it because she’d realize how messed up her entire existence was….y’know killing so many people.

But I think Cosmo would stick by her side because it wasn’t her fault and she didn’t really know what she had been doing. Eventually he would train her to work with him to protect people.

Cosmo would treasure her because she was immortal, too, and he wouldn’t have to be afraid of outliving her like he had much of the people he knew on earth.  (EVEN THOUGH HIS SISTER AND HIS NEPHEW ARE BOTH STILL ALIVE AND THE BOTS WERE IMMORTAL TOO BUT “OH NO!  I’MMA OUTLIVE EVERYONE SO I’MMA GO CRY IN  A DARK BEFORE THEY’RE EVEN GONE” LIKE THAT HELPS ANYONE MAN, C’MON!!!!

I might still be a little mad about that.  Ahem.

Is Cosmica immortal? The song mentions that she was born and later “came of age” so it seems that the does age and get will get older…

The way understand it, Cosmica is only of humanoid form because the energy beam that created her passed through Walter’s locket (and heart) and imprinted his girlfriend’s image into Cosmica. Perhaps she was “born” from that and aged to the point where she mimicked Holly’s age and appearance.

Well, from what David said, she found the locket and morphed herself to look like Holly so that she’d be more familiar (more human) to the Astronaut.

I think she was “born” long before the rocket when into space.  From what Bunny says, there was a spacecraft with human DNA and that’s what gives Cosmica her sentience and general shape.  I think.  Otherwise, she could be very destructive floating space stuff on a smaller scale that the Necrostar.

Not sure about immortality, but I do think she is far less likely to die than any human.

Daughter of Space is definitely from the Astronaut’s POV so we can safely assume that (a) he doesn’t know jack about where she came from and (b) he was probably suffering brain damage from when she pulled his ship apart because © he seemed pretty fucking cool about her killing his entire goddamn squad.

Cosmica probably did lots of stuff to the squad and ship by accident, not knowing how lethal she was, etc. We can assume that she can pick up his thoughts because she made his dreams reality in It’s Cosmic.

The Astronaut is enraptured by her and quickly gets drunk on power. Cosmica pretty much only has his thoughts as a guide.

When she met up with Commander Cosmo/Pete4, she had a sudden source of information including the sudden knowledge that she’d been doing wrong.

No surprise that I want a story from Cosmica’s point of view. Highlight how she was mislead. That sort of thing.

There’s no idea how long a “Space god” made from a nebula and a blue-matter nightmare ray would live. But considering that Pete4 got hit square in the chest with a similar (or the same) nightmare ray and turned into the functionally-immortal Commander Cosmo… we can assume that she’s functionally immortal too.

Yo, I made VQ video (sort of)

Video available on YouTube here.

Yeah, I did an unboxing video. Props to bunnybennett, davidmichaelbennett, samhears, seapeny, camiyak, Steve Negrete (the one true dragon) and anyone else behind the scenes who may or may not have a blog here.

You’re all made of awesome and so is this album.

For the record, the album arrived yesterday, during the Day of Silence, so I couldn’t nerd out here like I wanted to.

Day 16 of mail-watching

Sill nothing. Our postie is a nice human. I only had to explain my predicament once, and now they’re apologising for the lack of parcels.

I’m also using the house security system to keep an eye out for the parcel post truck, just in case. I know they come by sometime after the postie… if they have a parcel to deliver.

Knowing my luck with these, my copy of Vice Quadrant will turn up on the protest day and I have to keep everything to myself until it’s over.

I already have a plan to write up everything so I can spam the fuck about it when the day of silence is done. Which means that this thing will fucking turn up 48 hours after I’ve given up hope. Which will be the day after I die because I’m that kind of nerd.

I will take up the offer of sharesies on my birthday, though. Because nobody deserves to miss out on their favourites in their birthday. Right?

Oh well.

Maybe tomorrow.

Day 15 of mail-watching

Managed to catch the postie with the cunning strategy of camping out on my doorstep and waiting for them to turn up.

Alas, the postie doesn’t know what’s taking so firkin long, either.

BTW - on weekdays, you get these just after I’ve come in from lurking for the mail. So you know just after I do. Assuming that anyone is bothering with this portion of my blog. I mean, you all probably have Vice Quadrant by now.

This is the first time I have ever been able to pay for a special offer. Let alone the first time I’ve pre-ordered an album at all. From the first band that I’ve actually cared about.

This is the first time I’ll be able to hold their work in my hands. Fresh off the production line, as it were.

That is… assuming it ever gets here.

I’ve already had one kind offer of sharing their tunes digitally from the fanmily, but… it’s not quite the same as holding the physical copy I own. The one I earned. It’s not the same as holding it and smelling in and treasuring it because I love these loonies from San Diego like I’ve never loved any other talented person from afar.

Late tomorrow evening will mark the beginning of the third week that my copy of Vice Quadrant has been in the mail. and this is the second week, by all my calculations, that it has been in this country.

It should be here. It might be here soon.

For all I know, it’s taken a mysterious side-trip through Tullagawupwup because some arsehole misread the shipping label. For all I know, it’s on a slow boat back to the States for the very same reason. For all I know, the plane took a trip through the firkin Bermuda Triangle.

It’s the not knowing anything that hurts.

I gotta keep taking a deep breath away from the depression and tell myself… Maybe tomorrow. And on Fridays, Maybe next week…

Sigh…

Maybe tomorrow.
