Okay, if it doesn’t fucking scare you that literally whooping cough is one of the most horrifying things you can hear come out of a baby, let me tell you a thing.
Whooping cough is not like a lot of other vaccinatible diseases. It takes A LOT more people to really develop the herd immunity so that people don’t get sick.
That other seven percent by the way, the ones who don’t refuse by choice, often have been told by their doctors that they risk LITERAL DEATH.
Let that sink in. I cannot have a vaccine because the effects of having it could actually kill me. Thankfully, other people are supposed to have it, so i’m supposed to be okay, but about a third of the population thinks vaccines are scary and so are fucking me over too.
When you say no to vaccines that are perfectly safe, you’re not only risking your life, you’re risking the life of all the people around you who cannot have vaccines for a number of reasons. You are putting us in the risk of death.
Don’t fucking do it. Vaccinate yourself and your fucking children. It’s proven science. It’s safe and it works.I survived whooping cough, and I can tell you that it made my life miserable when I had it. You can’t stop coughing until you nearly pass out from lack of oxygen, and then it’s a battle to breathe in because by then you’re so desperate for air that your airway nearly closes in the effort to breathe in all the air you need before the next spate of coughing nearly knocks you out again.
That’s what causes the trademark ‘whoop’. Not the cough, but trying to breathe in fast enough in the rare moments that you get a break between coughing.
And the mucous.
You would not believe the amounts of mucous a small 9YO child can evict during a spate of whooping cough. I nearly coughed up enough goop to make another human being out of the raw mass.
That’s how fucking bad it is.
And it didn’t stop there for me. Whooping cough graduated into bronchitis. That’s where the bronchial tubes in the lungs decide that air is a threat and make too much mucous in an effort to repel the bad thing. It would mean weeks of missing school and having my back pounded and almost living on antibiotics.
And then, with every rhinovirus I caught, it came back. Again and again. Seasonal sniffles came with weeks of helplessly horking up gobbets of goop. And this was back in the 70′s and 80′s when there weren’t so many antibiotic-resistant bacteria running about.
I got my first asthma medication when I was thirteen. My first nebuliser before my first kiss.
A child of ten did not deserve this hell. A baby definitely doesn’t need it.
A baby cannot willingly hork up a lungload of mucous. They have to have a technician stick a pipe down their tiny throat and suck it out.
If you don’t like the idea of sticking a small needle in a baby’s arm or leg, then you should definitely despise the idea of someone sticking a pipe down their throat.
And further - there have been ZERO deaths from ASD.
Everything you can vaccinate against could very likely kill a tiny baby.
Even if it was the choice between certain, painful death and a slight mental issue, I would pick the one where my kid lived. Every. Single. Time.
Fucking vaccinate. For the love of all you hold dear, get your family vaccinated.
This is the only post I could actually appeal. Interesting that Tumblr thinks a public safety PSA about what diseases can do to a very small baby and why people should vaccinate their kids is an obscenity.
The obscenity here is not vaccinating when you can, because you believe falsely that vaccines cause autism. There’s nothing sexy about this post.

Saint Hoax removed the original headlines from these misogynistic advertisements and replaced them with quotes that Donald Trump said about women.
I have flagged posts now! This is what Tumblr thinks is too obscene to be seen. While I agree that misogyny is obscene, these are also the words of an elected official, presented as art in the form of some really terrible ancient advertising.
It’s art. With not a nipple in sight.
