How to Plot as a Pantser, Part 14
I temporarily mislaid the plot - but that didn’t stop me!
Challenge #03087-H179: The Natural Order
If you loved me you’d… Often demanded, often with consequences you’d rather not deal with. truth is that “If you loved me,” cuts both ways. – Nonny the Mouse [in memory of too many domestic violence victims]
It was only natural. Take one Tiefling who had rarely known a kind word and never known a kind touch. Add a young lady who showed him even the most elementary of kindness, and you have a recipe for instant trouble. For Kormwind, it was even more complicated than that.
Her name was Lali, and she was perfectly beguiling. Even a half-elf has charms that lesser mortals could fall for. All she had to do was bat her eyelashes and giggle… and Kormwind was a puppy on her leash. She was not rude enough to whistle for him, but a nod and a smile were far more than enough.
He was sixteen. So was she. If it weren’t for his clear demonic nature, they might have made a cute couple. The fact that he had distant promises to keep and an oath to uphold could easily be forgotten, sometimes. What was here and now was easier to keep in mind. Nevertheless, when he remembered his oath to be “true to his troth”, Lali had an ace up her sleeve. “I thought we were friends…”

How to Plot as a Pantser, Part 13
The first time is an accident. Every time afterwards is on purpose, and hilarious in my humble opinion.
How to Plot as a Pantser, Part 12
More of the continuing story of a Tiefling who’s life is going to… you know ;)
How to Plot as a Pantser, Part 11
But wait! There’s more…
Challenge #03063-H155: Handcrafted Hearth
Do you think, to prove it is love, not just an infatuation, he stays there? He learns to make musical instruments and presents to them to her for her approval or not? He starts to take singing lessons and asks to do duets with her? Maybe even introduces her to others as lovers and helps take care of tiefling children, all the while making it clear that he believes he owes HER, not her owing him, for the gift of her music in his life? Maybe she’s willing to give him a chance, at least, for friendship to begin with?

No. Not for nothing. There was still the music of her voice. The possibility of knowing the person. Of course Tieflings turned out to be assholes, or part-time assholes. Just look at what the world had done to try and get rid of them. Just look at what the world had done to them before that.
Melody deserved better. He knew it. He thought he was better, but her pinpoint accuracy regarding his thoughts and motivations had made him think. Perhaps for the first time in five years. So he dragged himself away from the lure of her voice to take a look around and work some things out.
One of the most obvious things about this kingdom of the forsaken was that there were so many more children than adults. Far too many baby Tieflings for the adults to care for properly. There were found families at capacity, and not enough accommodations for all of them. Babies, children, and even teenagers were sleeping three or five or more to a bed. Well. He was a carpenter. Dan could do something to help.

And now, the continuing story of how to turn a caring, helpful child into a cynical, anxious asshole with some justified paranoia.
Challenge #03068-H145: A Case of the Colliwobbles
My tummy hurts. – Anon Guest
Become nurse to a crown child, they said. It’ll be easy, they said. Just leave them to play for a few hours, keep them clean, and make certain they eat. When they reach a certain age, teach them to read. The rest of your time is leisure and comfort, they said. ‘They’ had not reckoned with the Earldom of Whitekeep and the curse on the crown family line. That curse was embodied in the current heir to the Blood Throne. Trueborn and firstborn son of the Earl and his wife. Kormwind Arachis Felbourne Whitekeep, ninth of his name, the living shame of Whitekeep. A Tiefling, like eight others before him in Whitekeep history. One of the rare and rather embarrassing Demon Lords. Soon to grow to be a terror to the satellite Baronies, and threat to any who opposed the people of the Earldom.
The good news was that he had servants to feed, bathe, and dress him. All she had to do was see to his education and keep him out of sight of the greater public. Easy, they said. They lied. The tiny Viscount had a knack for creeping away. He had been found in the stable, feeding carrots or apples to the horses. He had been found in the Council chambers, listening intently between the polished boots of Barons, their delegates, and the Earl himself. He had caused a ruckus in the Countess Consort’s sewing circle by handing one of the ladies the bobbin she had dropped. He had an unnerving habit of vanishing for hours and then turning up with burrs and stains on his person, yet nobody anywhere saw where he went.
