Florida cop suspended with pay after sexually assaulting lesbian teenager

sicksadfemme:

gaywrites:

In Hialeah, Florida, a 17-year-old lesbian has filed a police report after a cop allegedly detained her, sexually harassed her and alluded to raping her.

The 17-year-old and her girlfriend, who have both asked not to be identified, were pulled over for making a u-turn and detained for questioning. Sgt. Jesus Menocal, Jr. told the teenager to get in the back of his police car to go to the substation for further questioning, while the other woman followed behind in her car. When they got to the station, Menocal, Jr. took the teen into a private room. Here’s what happened next (triggers for sexual assault):

“[He asked me] how do I have intercourse, and I told him, ‘Why do I need to answer that? Why is that necessary?’” the young woman said to WSVN. “He insisted me to answer it, so I told him how me and my partner have intercourse, which is me and my girlfriend. After, he asked if I was a virgin. He asked me, if he was to test me right that moment, if I had any diseases on me.”

The young woman says Menocal, Jr. then put one hand below his weapon belt and began rubbing his genitals over his pants. Detained without charge, the teen says at this point she feared she would be arrested and jailed for no reason. “He put me in a room, he told me I was going to be with investigators,” she explained tearfully to WSVN. “And out of nowhere, there’s no one in the office.”

She alleges Menocal, Jr. then told her “to take off my pants or I was going to get arrested,” according to Miami NBC-affiliate WQAM. She says she complied, removing her shorts. “He said let me see your behind. He looks me up and down and asked me if I was on my menstrual. I told him, ‘Yes, how did you know?’ And he said he was asking me a simple question.”

The teen says she then put her shorts back on and the officer asked her to show him her tattoos. “He wanted me to take off my shirt and my bra together, and I told him, ‘No. Why do I have to do that? There’s no reason to do that,’” she continued. “Then he said, ‘Oh I thought you wanted to fuck,” she told WSVN.

“Honestly, I thought I was going to get raped. I thought he would make me sleep with him,” she said.

When the teen was released, the women filed a police report and secured legal counsel. The sergeant has been suspended with pay and the Health Police Department has begun an investigation. Neither Menocal, Jr. nor his father, a recently retired police chief, has issued a public statement.

What. The. FUCK.

This just got even worse seeing as he’s a fucking pedophile too, apparently.

Why is he still being paid? WHY IS HE STILL BEING PAID?

Thoughts on sexism in Jurassic World

jonathanseal777:

Claire’s character development is that she is a career oriented woman who is not interested in having kids.

She is thrown in a survival situation where she must protect the kids and and in that situation she learns to appreciate and even care for the kids.

Many critics find this character arc to be sexist.

Does anybody remember Alan Grant’s character arc in the original film?

Strong independent, career oriented man who does not want kids.

Is thrown into survival situation and is forced to protect the kids and in this he learns to care for them.

Learning is fun.

The treatments in these moves are vastly different.

Alan is incompetent with kids and is not judged by anyone [or the camera] for it. Heck, in the beginning, it’s even played for comedy.

Claire is incompetent with kids and leaves them with someone with (allegedly) more experience and IS FUCKING SCREAMED AT. Oh, and an apparently important plot point of the movie is that said incompetent “nanny” person MUST be punished by being tortured by pterosaurs and then consumed by that giant dinosaur whale thing. Underlying message: women who fail to look after children deserve to die. Unless a man loves them.

Alan spends a majority of his time learning how to deal with the kids and learns that children aren’t little germ-infested shitbeasts with all the survival instincts of a concussed whelk[lies!]. Underlying message: Yay, Alan.

Claire spends a majority of her time trailing after a one-time fling in a supremely nauseating you-don’t-know-you-love-him-until-he-kisses-you “romance” plot for a relationship that is DOOMED TO FAIL because they’re EXACT FIRKIN OPPOSITES. She spends maybe ten whole minutes actually protecting the kids at the end of the movie and that is supposed to make it okay to want to start a family? Somehow?

It’s a similar arc, but the treatments of each character are V-A-S-T-L-Y different.

Middle School Censors Student’s T-Shirt Because It Used The Word ‘Feminist’

An eighth grade student at Clermont Northeastern Middle School in Batavia, Ohio wore a black T-shirt on class photo day which included the word “FEMINIST” written across the shirt in white letters. Yet, while the shirt does not violate any school rule and the student has worn it to classes before, the school chose to doctor her class photo to remove the word.

We need feminism because: This middle school dingus of a Principal thought that the word “feminist” was potentially offensive.

I want to see a copy of that school photo now, just to count how many boys in that picture are wearing sexist and uncensored shirts.

Men: Don’t look like a trash can
Women: “Look pretty enough to show you’re a woman” because the only thing that matters to be a woman is to be beautiful, also “covered enough to look like a lady” because showing your shoulder will make every man in the audience simaltaneously ejaculate and it will be a big mess. Also if someone stares at your tits and not your face, it’s your fault and you should be ashamed of yourself and your disgusting, lustful body.

This is disgusting

I would fucking go there in a suit and fake beard.

“What? you said “modesty”. According to you, men clothing are modest by nature, so here I am: dressed like a man. Fuck you.”

Let’s see how many ways we can all incense the people who wrote these rules without actually breaking them.

So far I have:

  • Nun habit
  • Victorian formal dress
  • Gentleman’s suit (in pink, so they know you’re a woman)
  • A fucking cardboard box that covers your shoulders and chest, but not your midriff. Worn with an “earth mother” floor-length skirt
  • Anything that reads “My face is up here”
  • A Khaftan with the word “WOMAN” over most of it and “FACE” near the neck. Helpful arrow optional.
  • Monk’s robes
  • Feminine plate armour
  • Samos cosplay
  • Full Lolita frills with a longer style of skirt
  • A dress made out of a potato sack.
  • A fucking ball gown
  • Anything you like with a goddamn BLACK BODY STOCKING underneath
  • Green Screen Suit [“What? You want me to be invisible anyway…”]
  • Butterfly dress
  • Full Starfleet Uniform
  • Dinosaur exosuit [Just come to school as a fucking velociraptor. Do it]
  • Anything formless that you can print your resumé on
  • White tie and tails
  • Fursuit
  • Dominatrix outfit with flat heel shoes
  • And my favourite: Jeans and a Geeky T-shirt with sandshoes.

What other things can we do to mess these people up?

Pro tip: if your school hands you this, turn up in a Nun’s habit (replete with wimple) and Mary Janes or steel-toed bovva boots. Keep asking why your clothing is inappropriate if they pull you up.

So this is what trust looks like.

Funny, my first thought was “So this is what the patriarchy looks like.”

Yup. This is how women are supposed to trust men. With their lives.

Woman : “Hey, can we just… Drop the bow?”
Man : “WHY DON’T YOU TRUST ME I’M NOT A VIOLENT GUY, YOU ARE INSULTING ME THINKING I WILL HURT YOU!!!”
Woman : “No it’s just… Well I’m afraid.”
Man : “But why? Look at me, I’m not afraid. And we’re equal, look, we pull the bow together.”
Woman : “I think we’re not equal, you can kill me with the arrow and I can’t.”
Man : “What? So you would like to be able to kill me? You’re so agressive!”
Woman : “That’s not what I mean, we were talking about equality : you can hurt me, I can’t.”
Man : “Of course you can. You can hit me with the bow if you want.”
Woman : “That’s not the same thing, it will never kill you.”
Man : “Oh, you always complaining, stop victimising yourself! Do I talk about the difficulty of holding the arrow? Of the responsability it giving to me?”

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Prime Minister of Australia kicking ass and taking names (mostly Tony Abbott’s.

Easily one of my favorite moments of 2012.

The fact that she’s a prime minister and not a president makes this even more awesome.

That means that she’s actually taking a risk with this speech - she’s speaking to the people with the power to boot her out of office at the drop of a hat.

But she decided that sticking to her beliefs is worth that risk.

Trufacts: They DID boot her out in favour Of Kevin “The Dud” Rudd. And now our prime minister is Tony “Fucking” Abbot.

Bleh.

Clear discrimination against men. Rather nice to see that this is on someone’s news, especially how men are viewed in society as all being potential pedophiles and rapists.

They’d never have suspected my rapist. Women don’t rape kids, you know. That bruising, those internal injuries? Just ‘an accident’.

Too many victims of rape are being swept under the rug because society doesn’t view certain types of rapists as rapists, i.e. women.

Really well done report, good mix of statistics and basic reasoning. Would have been interesting to see what the % of female perpetrators is (I don’t know that figure for Australia) put in too but raising the issue in the first place is always good to see

I’m glad there is a report on this.

-Liv

I used to get this all the time working in childcare and it is why I have never had a male work mate, men are scared of it.

I showed this to my boss and he was like, “What the fuck is this now,” and I gave my 63 year-old Muslim boss a run-down on men’s rights accompanied to this video. Needless to say, he’s chapped.

-Liv

The father of a friend of ours never spent time alone with his grandchildren because he was terrified of being accused of abusing them.

this is just male tears though don’t you know look at these non issues oh noooooo

/sarcasm

This is atrocious.

One of my best guy friends gets strange looks when he takes his nieces out for lunch or they spend the night at his place without his sister (the mother) present.

He once had to change the youngest’s diaper at a restaurant or something, and when he was in the middle of unfastening her shorts (she’s not even two years old, so he had to help), a strange woman came up and told him that she’d take care of it. When he protested (because she’s a fucking stranger!), she called him a fucking creep and threatened to call the police on him.

I mean, are you fucking serious? Not all men are predators, and not all women saints. There’s good and bad in both genders, and for people to act like the entire male gender is composed of sexual predators is disgusting.

HOLY FUCK. WHAT ABOUT THE MENZZZZ WAAAAHHHHH!!!

Can you not see what’s really happening here? WOMEN are the expected caregivers, not men. This isn’t sexism against men (it doesn’t fucking exist so stfu). This is sexism against WOMEN. Women are the caregivers, the mothers, the nurturers etc, Men are the hunter/gatherers. They’re not supposed to be taking care of teh babbieeezz. Also, rapists and pedophiles are more often than not, MEN.

So. If you don’t like being seen as a predator, if you don’t want to be assumed to be a rapist, if you don’t want to be seen as violent or dangerous, change the fucking system. Stand with feminists who have been trying to dismantle gender roles since the dawn of time. Call out a dude who makes a rape joke. Learn about rape culture. Understand why victim blaming is dangerous. Fight for equal pay so women can make a decent living without having to worry about alimony. Do equal chores around the house, call out a sexist asshole for being a sexist asshole. Smash the patriarchy! Dismantle gender roles! Whining that this fucking guy couldn’t sit next to a couple of kids in an airplane and calling that discrimination, is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what you should actually be doing.

Are you serious? I might be wrong, but how is saying that women are to be trusted, and that men are horrible child abusers and/or rapists anti-women? I mean, you can pull the hunter gatherer thing, but I would like to think that humans, as a race, are above assigning roles at birth.

But men should just “change the fucking system”, right? Because they have a special superpower that allows them to change the way of thought for everyone around them. If men would just be feminist allies (not feminists, can’t have their male tears flooding our safe spaces) things would just be perfect immediately.

Come on, men, why aren’t you helping?

Um… I’m not going to repeat myself, so why don’t you go ahead and read what I wrote again? I listed a bunch of suggestions on how to change the system which did not include using a super power.

This prejudice exists BECAUSE of sexism and rape culture.

Sexism says that women are the natural and only proper caregivers for children.

Rape culture paints men as rabid horny beasts that will take advantage of anything weak and helpless. AKA women and children.

Change the society, change the bias, end the problem.

Do I need to paint a picture? Or just use smaller words?

Meanwhile, it is nice to know that a lady can totally hang out at a public pool and take creepshots of guys’ crotches/asses all day and not get called on it.

“Judgments”

I took this last year, but in retrospect, I think it’s my strongest piece from high school.

Working on this project really made me examine my own opinions, preconceptions and prejudices about “slutty” women and women who choose to cover all of their skin alike. I used to assume that all women who wore Hijabs were being oppressed, slut-shame, and look down on and judge any woman who didn’t express her sexuality in a way that found appropriate.

I’d like to think I’m more open now.

This amazing statement has been misused, misappropriated, mistaken in intent and used by folks who missed the point entirely.

You can tell a good statement by the way people try to make it not matter.
