Sometimes, there’s no help. You just have to deal with whatever until it’s dealt with or the help finally gets there and you can let other people deal with the thing. I long for those days.

My name is Yani. And this is my second year alone. I’m getting ping from the comms networks, so I know these are going out. As is the automated distress signal. Why anyone hasn’t come… I don’t know. I have my suspicions, but… I’m not receiving anything other than a ping. I can’t say anything for certain.

What I know is: I crashed. By the time I came to on this little island, something had happened to blacken the sky. Every day is overcast, now. And I can’t repair my plane. It’s a write off. I know that I’m not worth much to my Great Nation. I’ve been sending out the signal for… for too long. No sign of rescue. I know the war is still going because… there was never a time of peace. And I know I used to have two options: Army or Jail.

Sad Undertale headcannons

Frisk is not their real name. They were frequently accused of stealing in one of their foster homes so much that they associated the phrase, “Frisk the kid” with their name.

Their hand-sign for themselves is a parody of a pat-down. Arms crossed to pat the shoulders, arms uncrossed to pat the hips - two pats at each place.

Child Services finally approves of Toriel adopting Frisk because the monsters are the ones willing to put in the time, effort and money to make certain Frisk gets everything they need.

Talking out loud is an emotional effort for Frisk. They will resort to pantomime before they resort to words. They loved that Toriel did most of the talking on the phone when they called.

Alphys built Frisk a custom tablet so they could communicate in the classroom. It was confiscated as a toy on Frisk’s first day at human school. As was the laminated information sheet that would have informed Frisks teacher(s) that the tablet was a communication aid. Alas, the teacher who confiscated it just shut it in their desk drawer without looking. And then they were surprised when Frisk started to sign.

The resulting fuss that teacher caused has resulted in sensitivity training for the entire school staff. Some of said staff are subtly mean to Frisk as a result. Usually by misgendering, though sometimes by forcing Frisk into uncomfortable situations like reading aloud to the class.

[And one happy one] Frisk has befriended every child at their school to the point where the entire classroom simultaneously corrects any misgendering going on. There have been multiple detentions, which are treated as a badge of honour.

Poo bum wee

I just spent all day trying to come up with something clever and winding up with fail.

And then, to top it off, I tried to make Spore work on my Mac again.

I know there’s worse things to happen to people than spending all day on a computer, but… I was trying my hardest to be clever and the universe just kept on reminding me that I’m stupid.

I feel pretty damn worthless right now.

I’m gonna go read a book. At least I can’t fuck that up.
