Google’s cracking a shit about having to pay news sites for their info. Said fractured crap includes deliberately cutting off services like mail, drive, and of course the search engine.

I figured that if anyone knew how to boycott the big G, it would be the antiestablishment folks here at Tumblr.

With that in mind, I would dearly like to know all about Google’s competition, especially in the area of cloud drives. It would be a real shame if a giant multinational corporation suddenly had a lack of traffic and a whole bunch of cancelled accounts…

Please share so we can maximize the impact.

So my main computer has a corrupted hard drive and life sucks because a new one would end up costing me something close to $4K. iMacs. They’re reliable but they’re firkin expensive.

I obviously don’t have $4K, and the best result is having a new hard drive. We’ve already saved a little bit [$300] by replacing the power source of my Drobo so everything that can be backed up has been backed up.

Yay.

I’m not going to ebeg as that never works but… if you know a friend who has money and might enjoy my sundry outputs, throw some good examples at them and hope for the best.

I really REALLY hate to beg on the interwebs and I know that by the time any of your money reaches me, I’ll be out of the metaphorical woods and back on what passes for an even keel… but…

It’s been an expensive week.

It’s looking to be expensive next week, too. What with a potential AUS$600 car repair bill hanging over my head. Because coolant leaks result in parts having to come from Tanegashima or whatever because someone had to be the asshole and design parts that couldn’t be reattached once they were detached.

I really don’t like this degree of planned obsolescence. Forcing someone into an expensive repair cycle is not a good look.

I don’t even know if it’s cyclical, but this is what I do know:

• It started with a coolant leak
• Fixing it resulted in a fuel leak
• two-three months later, I have another coolant leak

I’m not saying they did it on purpose, but it certainly feels like that at the moment. I’m not going to be ignoring a petrol smell this time for sure.

Anyway. Circumstances done with, I give you… ways to give me some money:
