Your attention please.

You may have noticed that I finally got the lead out and published the long-awaited third instalment to my trilogy: Hevun’s Gate.

You may have also picked up on the fact that I am more or less slightly broke.

So here’s a short list of things you can do that don’t cost you shit, but still help me out.

  1. Reblog anything you love. Like my short stories? Reblog them. Like my post about my book? Reblog it. Getting an audience is 90% of the battle for ANY author and I’m no exception.
  2. Spread the word. Tell your friends. Share the best of my writings around. Quote me on your blog. Do it. It will boost my ego and generate buzz.
  3. Leave a review/rating. People judge books by how many others have been there before them. Leave any newcomers with the impression that my book is well worth the money
  4. Fanarts. Did I inspire you to draw? Brilliant! Just remember to leave a link back to where you got it so people can see what the fuss is about.
  5. Power Point Slideshows. I have no idea why, but people on Tumblr love these things, so knock yourself out. Make dozens. Share them with everyone. And tell me so I can scatter them liberally throughout my queue.
  6. Tell other social media. I’m not big into Facebook, Instagram, Pintrest or anything else that’s going around and I only tweet rarely. But if you can add a link back to the place to buy it? Plaster that sucker all over the place.

I need a fandom, and my future is literally in your hands. Don’t just reblog this post. Reblog everything that is mine that you love. Share me with your friends and followers. Create some other stuff on the #Amalgam Universe and #Hevun’s Child tags.

We have to generate some serious buzz. Not just now, but always.

My budget needs you.

Feel free to use the following bitly links:

Thank you for your love, time and devotion.

Dear Followers:

Once again, I must ask your aid. The book I have coming out this Friday, Hevun’s Ambassador, needs some free advertising. This is the first one that’s actually going to earn me any income.

And this one is really tough, because I can’t write a lot of ad copy without giving massive spoilers.

You may have already seen this pic in my blog:

As well as the link to the book’s page.

Once again, I need buzz.

Especially any positive opinions you may have/had about the first book, Hevun’s Rebel.

This is part 2 of my Biggest Gamble Ever. I need your help.

Please. Generate some buzz. Spread the word. Share the feels. Avoid spoilers.

I’m going on holiday for a bit

No worries, I have queued up some instant stories to cover my arse absence.

What I can’t do is tweet about them to spread the word while I’m gone.

So. For the next five stories, I would very much appreciate it if  you would tweet my stories to all your followers. If you add the hashtags, #free or #freefiction (along with a pithy explanation), they may even garner the attention of Free Fiction Daily which, I am certain, has netted me more followers over time.

Forget publish or perish. These days, it’s publicity or perish.

Please help me get the word out.

Thanks in advance,
Your local cackling InterNutter

TWO MORE DAYS

Sahra didn’t know why they were sending rats through blowed-up tunnels, but she reasoned she’d at least get good pickings. Even mass credit would be good. Lots of loose bits.

They had her going real close to ore processing, and strapped some other stuff to her head.

“…ore should be cool enough to approach,” said one supervisor.

I almost feel sorry for these dumb animals.” said another.

Do you want to waste sensors seeing if this mess is radioactive? The animals are replaceable. We can always breed more. And the ones going really close aren’t that useful, anyway.”

Wait. What?

They pushed her on and ordered her in.

What did they mean, not that useful? Sahra felt her cheeks heat up again. How could she have a chance to be useful if nobody let her try?

Good news, everyone!

I have a job.

A paying job.

I am now, officially, a journalist [talk about doing things backwards. Most writers start out as journos] for a soon-to-be-released online ladies’ magazine.

I have, over the past week, been working on some articles for it, usually two or three a day.

Today (Thursday) I was told I should be writing “pink and fluffy” pieces.

I must have earned a year off purgatory for not exploding at my best-beloved on a “do you even know me” rant.

I have never concerned myself with pink and fluffy. I consider pink and fluffy to be a waste of ink - or in this case, electrons. When the celebrity!news comes on I tune out, turn off, or walk away. When someone has a “fabulous” makeover, it’s my humble opinion that they usually wind up looking worse than when they started.

I don’t do nail polish. I don’t wear makeup. I can’t even find a nice lipstick on the rare occasions that I go looking.

And as for clothes… I’m in specialty shops, every single time.

I’m just about at home with bath products, but that’s about IT as far as pink!fluffy is concerned.

I want to show my darling dearest that there are ladies out there - and especially mums - who would like a little less pink!fluffy and a little more addressing the real issues in this world.

So please reblog this with *your* mum/kid concerns. Whether or not you agree with me on the pink!fluffy side.
