Atlanta Police Walkout In Protest Following Murder Charge Against Officer Who Shot Rayshard Brooks

The head of Atlanta’s police union confirmed Wednesday June 17th, 2020 that officers from the Atlanta Police Department in Zones 3 and 6 walked off the job Wednesday afternoon.

Vince Champion, southeast regional director of the International Brotherhood of Police officers, said that police officers had stopped answering calls midshift, in response to charges against Officer Garrett Rolfe who is accused of murdering Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta.

Police are doing what they call the BlueFlu: a strike action, especially among police officers, in which workers are absent on the pretext of “sickness”.

we gotta stop making comments about how cops need to go to psychiatric institutions or GUARANTEE their next move will be to claim they shouldn’t be punished or held accountable and instead should be given public resources (money) to get care

???? What alternate universe is this BS? None of this happened starting with the cop has been charged with murder.

He was charged with third degree murder and manslaughter which translated to “he didn’t mean tooooo”. Oh and by the way this is what happened to Tamir Rices killer. And Mike Browns. And Sandra Blands. And Dante Parker’s. And Tanisha Anderson. And Breonna Taylor. and Freddie Gray. And Ezel Ford. And Dontre Hamilton. And John Crawford lll. And Eric Garner. and. And. AND.

We are not just fighting for one man. We are not just angry at one cop. Don’t be ignorant.

Original twitter thread for Dark Tesla post

Source to George Floyd’s killer Derek Chauvin being charged with 3rd degree murder, which as defined by the state of Minnesota means: “person [acted] “without intent to effect the death of any person, causes the death of another by perpetrating an act eminently dangerous to others and evincing a depraved mind, without regard for human life” Third-degree murder carries a maximum 25-year jail sentence in Minnesota.

Derek Chauvin is the first white officer in Minnesota to be criminally prosecuted in the death of a black civilian.

The above described events by Dark Tesla still have the ability to happen. Chauvin is still only held on bail right now, and his conviction can be thrown out, as we can see there is a huge history of police never facing charges for the grotesque murders of black people.

Tamir Rice’s killer “Loehmann never faced charges for the shooting, but he was fired from the Cleveland Police Department in May 2017 for lying on his job application.”  He has been rehired several times and The Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association has argued that Cleveland violated Loehmann’s due-process rights because the city waited so long to begin the disciplinary process against him. He is still being defended by cops. No murder conviction.

Mike Brown’s killer Darren Wilson was not indicted on charges for murdering Mike Brown, nor was he charged with anything. It was claimed by the Department of Justice that “There is no evidence upon which prosecutors can rely to disprove Wilson’s stated subjective belief that he feared for his safety,” Despite witnesses description of Brown’s final moments: he had both hands in the air when Wilson fired the shots that killed him.

Sandra Bland’s death was officially ruled a suicide, Brian T. Encinia was never held accountable for her death, the most that happened to him was he was indicted for purjury, despite people to this day, including politicians like Beto O’Rourke, seeking to reopen the case. They instead blamed it all on not putting her on suicide watch, yet still made the officer promise to never be a cop again and some how this never factored further. No Conviction was made.

Despite the ACLU proving Dante Parker’s death wouldn’t have happened without the use of a taser by law enforcement, and forcing California to change their stun gun laws, no one was charged for this murder and it was officially declared that his pre-existing health issues were what killed him. No Charges were filed.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner ruled Tanisha Anderson’s death a homicide from “sudden death associated with physical restraint in a prone position." Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge John Russo decided to remove this page from the autopsy, and despite her death triggering a 58-page report of reform, the most that happened to the cops who caused her death was Officer Scott Aldridge, 49, was suspended 10 days without pay. Officer Bryan Myers was issued a written warning. No charges against them were filed.

Despite the police and lawmakers understanding there was not enough scrutiny or transparency in police officers conducting a raid on Breonne Taylor’s house with an ill-issued no-knock warrant when they already had the person for the apparent drugs they were looking for and did not find in Breonne Taylor’s house, still no conviction has been made.

The six Baltimore police officers were never convicted for murdering Freddie Grey, who “following his arrest, rode in a police van — shackled but unsecured by a seatbelt, as required by police department regulations” was found unresponsive due to severe spinal cord injury from the following events and still “the department said in a statement, adding that it was unable to prove the officers “willfully violated Gray’s civil rights.”

Despite a police oversight panel faulting one of the officers in Ezell Ford’s murder, stating that his handling of the encounter was so flawed that it led to the fatal shooting, no conviction was made.

Starbucks employee’s repeatedly called the cops on Dontre Hamilton who was sleeping in a park waiting for his welfare check, the cops had declared he was doing nothing illegal, however Officer Manney decided to beat Dontre with a baton, and when Dontre defended himself by removing the Baton from Manney, he was shot 14 times in the back. No charges were made, despite Manney being fired from the force, and the police already declaring Dontre as not doing anything illegal that necessitated Manney’s presence in the first place.

The FBI said Sean Williams didn’t violate John Crawford III’s rights by murdering him on sight for having a toy gun in an open carry stateNo Charges were filed.

Despite Eric H. Holder Jr., Former President Obama’s attorney general at the time of Mr. Garner’s death, saying that evidence strongly suggested the federal government should bring charges against Officer Pantaleo for choking Eric Garner to death, the courts decided choking Eric Garner to death while he said he couldn’t breathe was a legal act, and no charges were filed

The three other officers involved and complicit in George Floyd’s Murder will likely not be charged

As of 2019, since 2005 only 35 officers have had a conviction against them for fatal killings.

Despite cops killing thousands upon thousands of people in this time.

It is reasonable for people to believe little will come of this conviction based on these statistics.

Here’s What Happened When An Alabama Cop Threatened to Murder a Black Man

In May of 2013, Alexander City, Alabama police officer Troy Middlebrooks was secretly recorded proposing the murder of a black resident, saying that he could hide evidence in order to make the proposed killing look like it was in self-defense, according to a report published by the Guardian Tuesday morning.

But after Vincent Bias, the man Middlebrooks proposes killing in the recording, played the tape to the Alexander City police chief and mayor, the officer was allowed to keep his job, and the city paid Bias $35,000 in a private settlement to avoid publicly being sued, according to the report. In the recording, Middlebrooks can be heard saying that [Bias], whom he allegedly referred to as “that nigger” off tape, “needs a god damn bullet.”

Same old story. Cop gets a paid holiday and the future murder victim gets insufficient hush money to get the hell away from his murderer.

Two weeks, tops, after this cop gets off his holidays? I’m willing to bet that Vincent Bias “turns up dead”.

This is fucking BLATANT disregard for human life.

Cops Cheer NYPD Officer Who Killed Teen Over Marijuana

The cheers of fellow cops for her unarmed son’s killer stung Constance Malcolm as cruelly as the bitter tears in her eyes.

That’s how they work,” the heartbroken mom said Wednesday after Officer Richard Haste was sprung on $50,000 bail in the Feb. 2 shooting of Ramarley Graham. “You see it every day.”

Malcolm and her husband, Franclot Graham, sobbed throughout the Bronx Criminal Court hearing where Haste softly pleaded innocent on his 31st birthday. The weeping Graham faces Father’s Day without his son.

Yet the assembled cops still applauded their brother in blue, who faces up to 25 years in prison, in a salute that struck the Graham family like a slap in the face.

“It puts salt in the wounds.”

Courthouse protesters infuriated by the Bronx killing offered a vocal counterpoint to the clapping by taunting the four-year NYPD veteran.

NYPD, KKK, how many kids did you kill today?” the demonstrators chanted at Haste, who appeared in court on crutches after a recent motorcycle accident.

Prosecutor Donald Levin, during the arraignment, said Haste’s decision to fire a single fatal shot into Graham was “neither reasonable or justifiable.”

In the most detailed description yet of the fatal encounter, Levin said Graham and Haste were just a few feet apart inside the cramped second-floor bathroom.

Haste “stood face to face with Ramarley Graham,” his weapon pointed directly at the teen, whose grandmother and 6-year-old brother were nearby, Levin said.

He illegally went into that boys house and murdered him over weed that’s being sold legally in some states.

Weed really isn’t that big of a deal either…

it’s only a big deal when it’s in minorities’ hands. otherwise, you can expect white folks to turn a profit from that shit while stacking the deck against us.

😡

Smdfh

One morning, I will be able to check Tumblr and not find any more disgusting examples of institutionalized racism and hate.

Alas, that day is more likely to happen via censorship than it is by having all those racist fucks rounded up and convicted for murder.

Baltimore Police Just Arrested Man Who Filmed The Freddie Gray Arrest

Kevin Moore filmed the police brutally arresting Freddie Gray. That footage went viral and began all of the protests that have been flooding the streets of Baltimore and sweeping the nation ever since. Now, after claiming the police had been harassing and intimidating him after he went public with the footage, Kevin Moore and two members of Cop Watch, have been arrested tonight.

Moore said on Saturday that he is the man who filmed the arrest, but he was concerned that his name and image had been released. No sooner than they were, the harassment began.

“What is so important that you have to plaster my picture over the Internet? I’ve already spoken,” Moore explained.

Shortly after Moore filmed his arrest, Gray, 25, was suffered a spinal cord injury in police custody on April 12th, and died a week later.

Moore explained that he had already spoken at length with two detectives in the Police Department’s Office of Internal Oversight and given them his video of the incident. But the police posted his photo and told the public that he was “wanted for questioning” and asked people to identify him.

But they already knew who he was. What were they trying to prove, or was this all about harassing him?

Tonight, the Baltimore Police answered that question for us. They arrested Kevin Moore who was with two members of Cop Watch.

Moore explained that Gray was a friend of his and he has to speak up.

What can you to do help Moore, Chad Jackson and Tony White who were arrested with him?

Call the Baltimore Police Department at (410) 545-8122 and demand that they release these innocent men now! Then help us SPREAD THE WORD!

“If you’ve been hearing about the “riots” or the ‪#‎purge‬ or the “Warzone” in Baltimore today, this is important context. h/t Jon Berger Sergio España

“I want to make this as clear as possible:

Step 1: the police created a “credible threat” about some high school students gathering at Mondawmin to start trouble.“

Step 2: the police showed up in force and riot gear before the students got out of school at Mondawmin, which is a major public transit hub, and SHUT DOWN THE TRANSIT, guaranteeing the kids couldn’t leave.

Step 3: the police started macing people and brandishing tasers.

Step 4: the kids understandably responded to being stranded and maced by throwing rocks.

Step 5: the media starts reporting it as “a riot” and “violent protesters.”

This is 100% bought and paid for by the police department. This is absolutely vile.“

No Justice, No Peace (4.20.15): It was only a matter of time be for the national spotlight was shined on just how racist the police in my city can be. While my local squad has been focused on busting the school-to-prison-pipeline, we kept hearing a similar story: people felt like they were being targeted by the police simply for riding their bike around their neighborhood. Yesterday, the Tampa Bay Times released a damning report, showing just how real and severe the practice is. The police are targeting black communities and black bike riders as a precursor to making advanced searches, in a strange twist on stop and frisk.

“Officers use these minor violations as an excuse to stop, question and search almost anyone on wheels,” the investigation report reads. “The department doesn’t just condone these stops, it encourages them, pushing officers who patrol high-crime neighborhoods to do as many as possible.”
The Times report added that Tampa has issued 2,504 bike tickets within the last three years — which the newspaper said was more than were given in the Florida cities of Jacksonville, Miami, St. Petersburg and Orlando combined.
But police say that they are targeting high-crime neighborhoods, and that by aggressively punishing bicycle violations, they’re helping to thwart further criminal activity.

Nearly 80% of all ticketed in the city for bike infractions were black, and 60% of enforcement was focused on majority black communities. #staywoke #farfromover
