being against pedophilia is not alt right, basically everyone with half a fucking braincell is against pedophilia, which is why manipulating that is such an attractive option for fascists and alt right and terfs and tradfems. they know that if theyre talking to a bunch of uninformed people and go “trannies and fags are evil sexual deviants and should be killed” theyre going to be immediately recognized as the fascists they are, so they dont do it that blatantly in the company of others. but framing it as “those degenerate pedophiles disgust me, im gonna go kill them” is something most people are gonna be fine with, something most people are gonna agree with. then you can slowly start associating any groups you dont like with pedophiles, can start associating lgbt people with pedophiles. and hey, youre against pedophiles arent you? this is what this is all about. were just trying to protect children

you dont see these same fascist weirdos doing anything to prevent the situations that lead to child sexual assault, they dont do anything to help support survivors, they dont put in any work to actually help because none of that actually furthers their goals, none of that is useful as a masking tactic

True facts: In order to teach in Catholic schools in my area, you have to take a training course on how to spot predators and what is not ok to do with / around kids. (Some of it is privacy related stuff.) This seems like a really good idea until part of the presentation starts talking about how: “Now, I know you all think that homosexuals are more likely to be pedophiles than other people, but that is false, ok? They’re just as likely as straight people.” Meanwhile, my sapphic self is going: “I didn’t know queer people were supposed to be pedo– Why are all of you nodding your heads and taking notes? Is this actually what you need dispelled?!”
