Fire Watch 2 Feb 2020.

You know what? I’ll take more dispersal as long as there’s less fires overall. It means the resources aren’t stretched to breaking in one specific area. Canberra, our nation’s “fair” capital, is doing an amazingly horrifying impersonation of hades, at the moment. The news is all about the Coronavirus and people are upset about one island being the dumping ground for everyone who’s at risk.

It just keeps on going…

Fire Watch 1 Feb 2020.

We’re more on fire, again. Meanwhile our allegedly glorious leader is dodging questions about sports money used to apparently curry favour with electorates who don’t like him. Taxpayer dollars going to a blatantly transparent attempt to bribe an electorate. Nice.

This is also the man who took money out of NDIS - away from disabled people already having a tough time getting benefits - in order to cover the billions in damages from the fires that could have been prevented with the same taxpayer dollars.

Waytago, Scotty from Marketing. Can you stick that foot any further into your cake-hole? Thanks, it might make you shut the flakk up…

Fire Watch 31st Jan 2020.

Less fire up top, more fire just about everywhere else. Sigh. The news is going bonkers about the Coronavirus and I understand how firkin scary that is. This could be 1920′s Influenza levels of devastating.

That said, this country is still on fire. Help is still needed. Action is still necessary. There is still a problem.

Less fire overall, except the top end. This is only a little win. Remember, folks, just because the media stops reporting on it, doesn’t mean it’s stopped happening.

We have four more months of fire season. Four. More. MONTHS.

Queensland’s all right, but the rest of the country is more on fire. Sigh. It breaks my heart, it really does.

All. Of. This. Was. Preventable.

We need to take action yesterday and all our glorious leaders can do is keep bleating about coal jobs. Ugh.

Fire Watch 28th Jan 2020.

For a glorious second as the site loaded, I thought there were less than ten fires all around Australia. Sadly, I was wrong but, as you can see, there’s still less fires overall.

Our allegedly glorious leader has severely pulled his head in and everyone is very carefully not saying anything about climate change. I’m just waiting for the first foot-in-mouth of Election Season, all the same.

Fire Watch 26th Jan 2020.

Less fire overall at FIRKIN LAST! WOOO!

WA and NT are more on fire, as is Tazmania, but overall? We’re less on fire. One hundred and sixty-two fires versus two hundred and whatnot.

Obviously, we’re still ON fire. Less is better than more, in this case. There are still homes on fire and there are still people who are without most of their lives and there is STILL a lot of rebuilding to do. There’s still a lot of recovery and, thanks to the droughts and the storms and whatnot, there’s a lot of topsoil just sailing away in the wind and rain.

This is still a class A clusterfuck in progress. This is going to have long-term effects for literal years.

Fire Watch 24th Jan 2020

Somehow, despite the fact that it has been consistently on fire since this all began, the Canberra region is more on fire than yesterday. There’s a total of two hundred and forty-eight (248) fires nationwide.

A firebomber crashed and nobody knows why, with three Americans dying as a result. They’ve grounded the firebombers as a gesture of respect and potentially to find out if any other planes are at risk.

Our allegedly glorious leader hasn’t had anything more to say about this situation and I choose to take that as a nebulous win.

Fire Watch 23rd Jan

WA is back on fire again, but the east coast has less burninating, so I want to take that win.

No fires would be better, but it is bushfire season, so… Can’t have everything.

I high-key want to know where I can get one of those atmospheric carbon scrubbers, how much they are, and whether or not one will fit in my backyard. I want to mail the resultant carbon cubes to Canberra and demand my cut of the coal payouts.

No new bon mots from Scotty From Marketing. I think he’s pulling his head in at last. May he keep his head pulled in until he is kicked tf out.
