Posting this because I’m seriously tired of people thinking fanfiction authors are machines that pop out stories for your enjoyment. No, you can’t just go to Settings and adjust our update times to your liking, that’s not how it works. We’re human too.
Writers are not your bitch. This is not a difficult concept.

when people moan about me not updating it actually puts me off doing anything about it
When writing fiction for my own entertainment and the possible entertainment of others, I have two speeds:
- Warp Seven, because the idea is shiny and I have lots of love for what I’m doing
- Slow As Fuck, because I’ve had no or negative feedback about the thing
It takes me a little over three weeks to write 10K words. Professionally. And this is because I’m saving my wrists so I can write tomorrow. That’s about a month. Give or take. It’s not unreasonable to wait for more of a good thing, people.
