Do you want rabies? This is how you get rabies

Is it really that big of a deal if your dog has autism?

I need to reblog this again because no seriously R A B I E S:

-is basically not treatable once you start showing symptoms. Straight up you will die and not in any kind of fun way. We’re talking flu symptoms that develop into hallucinations, severe hydrophobia, partial paralysis and a slew of other shit.

-99% of rabies cases in the world come from stray dog bites. EXCEPT IN THE US. Rabies vaccines have nearly illuminated the threat from dogs. Our biggest concerns are wild animals like raccoons, skunks, foxes and coyotes and feral cats.

-Rabies is extremely preventable by vaccines and nearly nonexistent in countries where the vaccine is widely available and taken advantage of.

-B U T if people stop VACCINATING THEIR DOGS (and other animals that are susceptible like cats and farm animals like cows, horses and goats) we will likely see a rise in rabies cases among free roaming animals and BECAUSE we dont experience many cases (because of vaccines) and often people arent informed. We know “rabies is bad” but that seems to be it in a lot of cases, I’d wager a lot of people dont knownits transferable from animals to humans at all.

-Most rabies cases in humans are children under 15.

V A C C I N A T E Y O U R A N I M A L S

-brought to you by me, who just did a research project on rabies for one of my MA classes

If these people don’t give an actual fuck about their own pets OR the children who could die if their rabid pets bites them, maybe they’ll start giving a fuck when the bereaved parents of the deceased children sue their asses into bankruptcy.

(Some people’s moral compasses are so skewed that no point you could make about human suffering will sway them, only points about how the choices they’re making will impact their finances.)

So much win…

Because one good vaccine means all vaccines are good. There has never been a case where cancer viruses have been intentionally put inside a vaccine. There should never be a reason for concern when the government talks about forced innoculation. What could go wrong? Roll up your sleeve. History doesn’t exist.

So much sarcasm.

you.. you know how vaccines actually work, right?

You are able to read what I’ve written, right?

Answer the question.

If I’ve got an opinion on something, I’ve probably done my research. If you have a problem with my comment, then let’s hear it. Otherwise, I don’t answer stupid questions.

An ‘opinion’ isn’t something that can be factually incorrect. “the earth is flat” is not an opinion.
If you’ve ‘done your research” you’d be able to answer my question without dancing around the subject and pretending everyone but you is an idiot. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A vaccine literally works by introducing dead or weakened pathogens to your immune system that can be easily dispatched of so when your body encounters the real, living thing, it already has the immunity and can take care of it without issue.
The “cancer viruses” as you so eloquently put it are already dead, so that when you encounter the ‘cancer viruses’ later, you’re immune. That’s how vaccines work.
Have fun catching HPV, though, cause you’re scared of fluoride or whatever.

“An ‘opinion’ isn’t something that can be factually incorrect. “

Thankfully I’ve not stated an opinion.

“If you’ve ‘done your research” you’d be able to answer my question without dancing around the subject and pretending everyone but you is an idiot. “

Incorrect. All I’ve done is refuse to answer your stupid question because I refuse to allow you to lead me down the primrose path of whatever horseshit propaganda you want to regurgitate. I never once said you were an idiot, but watching you squirm is kind of fun. Even asking me the question you’re asking me is actually irrelevant to the sarcasm in my post.

“A vaccine literally works by introducing dead or weakened pathogens to your immune system…”

And there’s never any additional harmful ingredients like mercury, lead, or cell destroying sterilants? You’re saying that the Merck drug company never injected dangerous viruses into vaccines causing countless cases of cancer victims?

“The “cancer viruses” as you so eloquently put it “

Nearly 20% of cancers are due to infections such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and HPV. Viruses are the usual infectious agents that cause cancer. Sorry if my shorthand wasn’t “eloquent” enough for you.

“cause you’re scared of fluoride or whatever”

See, assholes like you are incapable of research. And even IF fluoride was completely safe, which there’s many sources who say otherwise, the fact is that the government is drugging you without your permission. THAT…is fucking creepy. But…a bandwagon rider like yourself never thinks that far. I bet you’d even advocate forced inoculation for children in public schools.

being scared of vaccines because of mercury is like being scared of cake because it’s made with raw eggs.

And holy shit, the fluoride thing was a joke, but you’re actually one of those people. But I guess I shouldn’t be surprised?

Cancer… isn’t a virus. ō_Ò

as a molecular biologist this is the most painful post I’ve ever had to read in my entire life

Let me clarify, though I am half asleep

1) All chemicals are, in fact, toxic at certain doses. That’s their “lethal dose.” Since everything’s a chemical, that means everything is lethal at some point. Certain things have lower doses and thus are considered toxic, yes, but they are never present at high enough doses in vaccines to hurt you. For example, with Fluoride, there are a lot of studies showing that excessive Fluoride consumption can be bad. However, this just means that the amount in drinking supplies has been lowered. Problem solved. Using science. Because there are benefits to fluoride on dental health, which is important, for as we extend our lifespans, the odds of our teeth becoming damaged increase. But anyway, that’s not really the point of any of this.

2) Cancer is a series of conditions all united by similar symptoms: uncontrolled cell growth. This growth is usually caused by various mutations to the genome that impact certain, well characterized genes. As someone who works in the sciences, trust me when I say that things that cause cancer are typically avoided like the plague when developing any new treatment. Some viruses do cause cancer, but they themselves are not cancer.

3) All the materials in vaccines are there to stimulate the immune system and successfully transfer the inactivated virus. And none are at a lethal or damaging dose, because they’re typically heavily tested. You can usually find the research online.

4) “Many sources who say otherwise.” You appear to be on a biased site. May I recommend Google Scholar or PubMed? See, when doing scientific research, typically one has to read a variety of papers in order to garner the best conclusion. And you need to ask yourself some very important questions while doing it:

A) What was their methodology?
B) Can this be repeated?
C) Does their data support their conclusions?
D) Has this been repeated?
E) Does their thought process follow previous literature?
F) What was their funding source?

I do not believe you have followed any of these steps.

5) Vaccines have, in fact, been used for centuries, and are based on basic immunobiological principles, in that, how the body remembers immunity and diseases can be manipulated.

6) There’s a very easy way to counteract conspiracy theories: do rich and powerful people get affected by this? In this particular example, rich and powerful people receive vaccines, the same ones we do, at birth, and so do their kids. You can claim that they don’t because you don’t see it, but I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t take long to verify that a rich person’s children are sent to a school that requires vaccination, and thus, their kids must be vaccinated.

7) Vaccination is required because it protects the weakest in the population. Pregnant women, people with allergies against components in the vaccine (so ANY dose is a “lethal dose”), very young children, and the elderly all cannot often be vaccinated and thus protected from horrifying diseases such as measles. They rely on no one in the population having these diseases so that they do not catch them. It’s not about you, the individual, or any sort of control on the population. It’s about protecting those around you. And, ya know, protecting you, from dying.

Because dying of a disease is terrible. It’s awful. There’s a reason plague features so prominently in the human canon of literature (from the old world, where plagues could develop thanks to domesticate-able animals and cities, but I digress). You do not want one. You do not want to die of one.

And it’s about more than yourself. It’s about protecting the people in our population who need it the most.
