internutter asked, "Ok so were Lilly Airheart and Jimmy Wright abducted by aliens or what? ... I also get the feeling that the Marksley family history is almost as interesting as the Walters..."

bunnybennett-deactivated2016082:

Airheart was originally a graphic novel idea which I then pitched as a song to SPG. I’d love to explore her adventures.

At the end of the song Airheart she actually enters another world. A sky realm in the clouds with a Wizard of Oz vibe. There were fun characters like anthropomorphic airship rabbits who have holes in their ship they hide in from sky snakes…bird themed witches and airplane people…

With all our hero characters we’ve felt the potential for more stories was there. Remember, my first comic book idea for SPG was actually a Captain Albert Alexander Odyssey. David is also really partial to Rex’s story. There’s a lot to tap into. I think it’s safe to say we have something cooking for you guys.

!!!!!!!!!

[FYI, I can actually make a sound that could articulate that expression of excitement]

DO NOT TELL SOMEONE LIKE ME SHIT LIKE THIS I WILL WRITE A HARRY POTTER/SONG OF ICE AND FIRE-LENGTH FANFIC OVER THE PASSAGE OF TWENTY SO YEARS OR UNTIL I GET A CEASE AND DESIST ORDER, WHICHEVER HAPPENS FIRST

I can feel my muse breeding the plotbunnies as I type… Well, it’ll give me something other than Peter/Iris and babybots to fic about ;)

Steam Powered Giraffe at WWWC5 - one nerd’s-eye-view. Well. Sort of. My view was partially obscured by hats, so I held my phone up to capture the stage a bit better.

My entire series of between-the-songs videos has Teh Wobble. And some are out of focus. But I couldn’t walk away with just my memories because I need to share cool things with everyone I know.

There’s 15 videos of the concert and they’re going up at a glacial pace because Australian internet has needed an upgrade since before it was installed.

[Hands up if you think that photo in the intro looks more like Thad than it does Pete1]

So who wants show snippets from Tucson?

I’m uploading them to my channel right now. It might take a while though. And in one of them, I get distracted ‘cause my heart escaped. Sorry folks.

But you do get most of some nice views of the bits between the songs.

I should have taken more pix tho. Should have done lots of things. O well. Next time. If there is a next time.

Who’s carpooling in Tucson?

Do you have room for one Aussie fanbot? I’m surprisingly compressible, even in full costume.

I’m willing to chip in for fuel. I have candy.

Aussie candy.

[That is, assuming they don’t loose my luggage somewhere between Brisbane and Tucson]

I got the run ragged, travel-weary blues…

At least I will by next Thursday.

I’m actually traveling on SIX. Firkin. Planes. Total.

Brisbane to LA… LA to Tucson on the way there. Fine. I can deal.

But the way home. Ye gods and little fishes…

Tucson to Salt Lake City. Salt Lake City to LA. LA to Sydney. Sydney to Brisbane.

I’m going to be rat-faced tired by the time I make it home. I’ve already raised a sweat pre-packing all my luggage.

Y’all understand why I don’t want to drive anywhere NOW?

Fanmily carpool?

Still looking for a kind soul to loan me a seat in their (renta)car for WWWC5.

Of course I’m willing to chip in for fuel (fair’s fair) and I’d prefer fanmily because I’m at least guaranteed a ride back after the SPG concert. The other concert (and the rest of the con) may be more of a crapshoot and I am OK with that.

Though I am prepared to lurk in the lobby and beg for rides on the day - I’d prefer to have it all arranged in advance. That way I can save all my anxiety for other daymares that I know won’t come true.

I really, really (times infinity) don’t want to rent a car to get to and fro. I’d be fine getting there, but the festivities close WAY after my bedtime and nobody wants a tired Aussie on the roads in the long hours of the evening. Especially this Aussie.

I promise I won’t whinge about the lack of seatbelts (much) and I’ll make an effort not to be a pest about it. And I’ll make sure my light-up heart is turned off while the car is in motion.

I’ll see what I can do about hooking you up with either Minties or Jaffas if you so desire. I might even be able to bring along some Polly Waffles. Availability depending.

Definitely need fanmily help!

Just got an email back from the nice people in charge of WWWC 5…

There is no shuttle service to and from the park. Drat.

That means that I must share a ride (or subsist solely on vegemite soup in my hotel room) with some other people who are also going.

So… Anyone going to WWWC 5 who has room for one more fanbot in their car?

Travel in Tucson?

I’m going to the WWWC for the first, and possibly only time in my life.

Now, I know the park where the con is happening is like a half-hour drive from where the hotel is for reasons that personally boggle the mind.

What I don’t know is how to travel there when you’re on a budget.

My options are:

1) Bus [if it exists, and does it go on weekends?]
2) Share a ride with some generous stranger [Any fanmily going who is willing to share with one mad Australian?]
3) Taxi [YEEK! If I do that, I won’t be able to eat]
4) Rent a car [Aussie drivers license plus truly terrifying micronapping habit plus I don’t even know if I’m allowed PLUS I might derp and forget which side of the road I’m supposed to be on, please, O forces of synchronicity, please let this not be my only option HALP!]

Anyone who’s been there - what transit arrangements are there for the slightly impoverished foreigner?

And if you’re going, too, can I bum a ride or three?
