The new album is coming along nicely…
Steam Powered Giraffe’s new album out September 1st 2016. Pre-order today! #steampoweredgiraffe #quintessential
See this? This exactly is why I love this band. They have everything.
Stoic dignity. Musical artistry. A dash of silliness…
…and some hairy GD firkin legs.
This’ll get posted to all social streams tomorrow by the official SPG channels, but have a peek now and hear some (unfinished) song teases!
NGL I listened to this like 30+ times already.
Hatchy’s little voice hitch at “You can make [my life] obsolete” is going to fuel SO many sadfics, I can feel it. I want to give this woobie child so many hugs RN.
Uh-oh…
Do you think our next album will be ok?

GG the giraffe once pulled of a billion dollar heist using only three packs of gum, a Sharpie, and a baked potato.
The reason why Rabbit is not allowed near any of those things, any more.

one thing i love about David Michael Bennett is the fact that if you ask him a question he’ll either reply with a serious 40-page essay or with sarcasm

Free Digital Albums If You Purchase an SPG CD
Currently working on a feature to make our online store send out digital copies of our albums when you purchase a physical CD version of them.
To encourage buying directly from us.
Like a bonus.
i.e.: Album One: CD + Free Digital Album = $10.00
This will take a week or so to get implemented properly on all albums and officially advertised on the site.
We will also be selling digital copies of our albums through our store aswell, so if you so choose, you can cut out iTunes or bandcamp or whoever and give 100% of your money directly to us.
We will still offer our albums on all the popular digital distribution sites though, as we all use them and want to give you fine folks all the freedom and possible options to enjoy our tunes. This will just be ANOTHER way to get the albums digitally, straight from our website instead of a 3rd party (…and delivered as 320kpbs MP3s, BEAT THAT iTUNES!).
ALSO…
If you’ve placed an order for CDs in the past on our online store, and it was after November 7th 2015, you will get a free digital copy of the albums you’ve purchased. This includes SteamWorld Heist Pre-orders, but not Vice Quadrant Pre-orders.
Any orders before November 7th 2015 will not be eligible for free digital copies, as this is when our online store switched to it’s current storefront from our old one.
Digital copies will arrive immediately via email after you checkout (either with a physical CD purchase or digital) and will also be available in a new section called “My Downloads” under your “My Account” page if you signed up for an SPG Shoppe account.
Please bare with us as we implement these changes.
I am working through each album on our store and putting up digital purchases one at a time. You may get emails and such if you buy an album. The emails are legit.
If you purchase a CD from us during this time but do not get an email, fear not, you will still get your digital copy. It will be emailed to you once all albums are up on our store digitally. This is the same for past purchases made after November 7th 2015. You will receive an email once your digital album is available. I will literally push a big button that will notify all past customers and give them their links and such.
So yeah, trying not to leave anyone out with all this!
Well…as much as is feasible from a technical limitation perspective.
For those of you who bought out CDs before November 7th or years in the past…apologies, but no free digital album.
HOWEVER! You can totally still rip your purchased CD to your hard drive and BAM DIGITAL! :P
On one last note…
Starting with our appearance in Dallas Texas at A-Kon in a few weeks…
If you purchase a CD from our merchandise booth and provide the Walter Workers an email address before they finalize your order (they will ask you), you will get a digital copy of the albums you purchased! And if your email matches your account on our online store, it’ll be thrown into your “My Downloads” section too. So yeah that’s cool.
Anywho…We’ll make a proper official announcement when this is all live and ready-to-go.
Just wanted to give you a taste of what’s coming!
Let’s play a game called talk to me about Steam Powered Giraffe variety headcanons
::inhale of doom::
Upgrade was the last steam-powered automaton built by Colonel Peter A. Walter’s own hands.
Pete3 spent large parts of his life swapping mentalities with his Omega Universe counterpart, hence his horrible decisions.
Wanda Walter-Hottie-Becile spent a large portion of her life secretly running Walter Robotics.
Colonel Peter A. Walter had ASD. And so do lots of his descendants.
Pete4 never fully recalled his life before the blue matter incident that turned him into Commander Cosmo.
Rabbit remembers everyone who leaves. And blames herself.
None of the robots sent to war were allowed to attend Colonel Peter A. Walter’s funeral.
During their time in Roswell, the robots were part of some experiments to test the effects of atomic explosions on Blue Matter machines. By setting off atomic explosions near the robots. Nothing useful ever came of these experiments.
The steam-powered robot band is bigger in Kazooland than it is on Earth.
Walter Robotics has spent its entire corporate career balancing on the catastrophe curve.
Rabbit still has dreams that feature an untouched dimension in which her core never exploded and all the death that resulted never happened.
Biscuittown, Kazooland, is a model city made up entirely out of biscuit boxes and tins, situated near some crystal pepsi springs. The Jon is so busy with it that he refuses to return to Earth.
Since Kazooland canonically has entrances to every imaginary realm ever made, SPG is automatically part of every work of fiction ever.
Which also makes every last fanfic cannon. But only if you want it to be.
Pete2 actually had forebodings of his own demise, but went to rescue Rabbit anyway.
Pete5 did a lot to bring Walter Robotics away from the disasters imposed by Pete3. Unfortunately, his mind is now scattered in time and space, meaning that he can only remember you in places where he’s met you before or since.
Considering how much the Walters tinker with the fabric of reality, it’s a miracle only Pete6 has lost anything significant. Hell, it’s amazing Walter Manor is still standing.
Walter Manor is not only alive but cusp-cogniscent. The rooms rearrange themselves seemingly at random. Interns and trainees are given a map app.
Steve is not only an actual dragon, but can shapeshift into his dragon!self at will.
