Despite the rains, we’re still on fire.
The good news is that ScoMo won’t be getting coal money for very much longer. Or he’s going to ride that coal barge all the way down the sinkhole :P

Investors are dumping coal!

Sure, it’s going to tank the Aussie economy for the short term, but it’s a step forward for climate change.

Plus it’s going to be fun to watch ScoMo squirm about this.

Scomo’s  scattering money about in an effort to try and look good. Too little too late IMHO.

Turns out Scomo’s bleating about securing jobs whilst figuring  out  ways to cheat at the climate targets.  Somehow, clearing  land of trees is ‘adapting’  to what climate change  is doing to us.

Nevermind that green energy has way more jobs than coal… just keep  burying your head in the sand there Scomo.

The younger portions of our Conservative party are saying not only that  Climate Change is real, but also action must be taken and the goals must be raised. Naturally, the older conservatives are pissed off.

This is going to end in a ruckus, I know it.

If you looked out my window right now, you may be excused if  you wondered how the hell Queensland could possibly still be on fire. It’s very moist where I am, but there’s still seven bushfires  clustered loosely near where I live. That’s the sort of illogic that leads to climate change denial. Also known as, “It’s snowing in Alaska, so how can there be unprecedented heatwaves in Australia?”

If you find one of that particular grade of numbskull, please smack them for me. Thanks.

This is more like it’s raining in Maine but still sunny in New York. I think. Or snowing in New York but sunny in Florida. Australia’s pretty darn big, folks.

All in all, there’s less on fire than yesterday, apart from Tasmania. What the heck, Tasmania? Prayers for rain are appreciated. If you have a few coin to spare, fling it at Saint Vincent de Paul. They actually pass on the money to people in need.

That spot of five fires in Queensland only seems close to me, it’s actually fairly far away from where I live. I am, for the moment, okay. While I’m okay, you’ll be getting these out of me.

Would you look at that. Australia’s hotter than it’s ever been in recorded history. You can actually see a trend. Starting in the 50’s, you get longer stretches of hotter years.

Wonder what started in the 50’s to make that happen? Wonder if it could be the plastic age and spewing petrochemical byproducts into the atmosphere?

This is Humanity shooting itself in the collective foot. This is why Australia’s on fire.

This is evidence. Tell me it’s normal and I’ll rip you a new one.

Progress of a sort… the Northern Territory is no longer on fire and Queensland is less on fire. Western Australia and South Australia join New South Wales and Victoria as being more on fire than yesterday. Tasmania still has the same number of fires as before, I think.

Climate deniers are still claiming this is normal somehow. We have a Mining magnate pledging $70 Million to help with this noise, but I’m betting none of that will actually turn up. It’s Notre Dame all over again. Only way bigger.
