Challenge #02841-G284: It’s Pretty Simple…

You Just. When you are floundering with a task or project, someone will pop up and give you the key to solving the problem. The bits left out in the manual. – Knitnan

Every instruction set assumes. Even the most detailed of instruction sets assumes the reader knows what the tools are, the techniques mentioned, and what the key points mean. One crafter’s definition of “the cracking point” is different from another’s. One is good, another is bad.

There’s a certain number of hurdles associated with learning the finer points of skills that have passed into the realm of special interest. The process requires passing information on from those with more experience to those with less.

When those skills evaporate entirely, the re-learning curve is extreme. People who, in the past, have taken progress pictures are invaluable to those attempting to recreate the skills involved.

Challenge #02840-G283: For Great Fitness

The human was moving slowly, very slowly, and doing deep breaths with each slow movement. They almost looked like moves one would do in combat, but these were too languid.. too.. relaxed. The saurian scientists aboard the ship were curious and a few even tried the movements, with varying degrees of success, and one asked the human as they paused a moment to watch their friends, what was that odd motion just now? The human smiled and said in a relaxed tone “Tai Chi”.

The reasons for Tai Chi

Human Kin had set aside this time for exercise, but this did not look like more common methods of exercise known to the Alliance. Companion Thresk watched in fascination. They were fighting moves, and Thresk had seen Human Kin fight using most, if not all, of the motions involved.

It was fascinating. The rhythm of Human Kin’s breathing was almost soothing, and the motions were almost hypnotic. Sometimes it was hard to stay awake as Human Kin exercised. The exercise itself was slow and graceful and Havenworlder-Friendly.

Companion Thresk joined in with the breathing, first. It must be assistive in keeping Human Kin awake. When that almost failed, Thresk attempted the motions. Human motions did not adapt well to saurian morphology. Human Kin noticed in seconds and put a stop to it.

Challenge #02838-G281: Balance, Skill, and Broken Bones

A group of deathworlder raiders makes the terrible, horrible, no good mistake of attacking a ballet dance troupe. – Anon Guest

[AN: If you ever want a solid education on how metal Ballet is as an art, then read up on how the dancers break in their en pointe shoes and what it does to their feet. Ouch]

Half of the Humans on board this vessel were tiny. Child-sized, yet also adult. The other half were weirdly muscular. All of them were surprised in their Skins in a gigantic room that had mirrors on three of its four walls.

They were still Humans, and even a ship made for the transport of artistic Humans was potentially dangerous. Thusly, Pirate Ardaq attempted to cover all the bases whilst ze had them under wide-beam stunner range.

It was starting to become the standard array of questions when raiding Humans[1]. “Do any of you have knowledge of semi-lethal chemistry, improvised weaponry, any known fighting style, or how to perform sabotages that would aid in the odds of this raid being captured by agencies of Galactic Law?”

Challenge #02837-G280: A Listening Problem

The human was dragged into medical by their friends. Well, “dragged” is a bit of a strong word, considering that if the human really didn’t want to go, they wouldn’t have, but they weren’t willing to risk injuring their friends by struggling too hard.

The problem? Hives. Bumpy, red, itchy hives, all over the human’s body.

When questioned, they said “I’m allergic to stress.” – Anon Guest

“Look, I’m going to be fine,” protested Human Hen, who was obviously not fine. “I just need you guys to clear my pills.” Human Hen was covered in red, lumpy blotches, visible wherever their skin was. Since they were herded into Medical by a crowd of far more fragile crewmates.

Human Hen could fight their way out of the herd, but the action of doing so could cause the surrounding Havenworlders injury, so they shuffled along, red of face and complaining about everything rather than putting up a real fight. Medik S'kaa watched the show with thinly-veiled amusement.

“I’m okay,” they said as the surrounding Geikha gently pushed them towards the scanner bed. “This is personally normal. I promise it’s not deadly. It’s not even infectious.”

Challenge #02836-G279: Sphere of Influence

I have a brother, he just so happen to have a girlfriend. Honestly they’re a lovely couple the girlfriend get along with the family. My brother with his gf are very, “intimate”. I play a beautiful instrument known as the saxophone. This night they learn that walls are thin in this house, if they can hear me, they better connect the dots and realize I can hear them.

the music I’m gonna was play – Anon Guest

[AN: The music is Careless Whisper BTW]

Humans have a saying: Thin walls make terrible neighbours. You won’t know how true it is until you’re facing against a noisy neighbour. It’s infinitely worse when you and the neighbour have differing sleep schedules.

Mine was a fan of “Cryin’” Joe Bardnaw. Specifically, the one song that every ship everywhere used as part of their distress signal. Many lives may have been saved by The Indian Love Call but this one was inspiring me towards murder.

Pro tip. Never plan a working holiday that goes through Deregger space. Those places are black holes in which you need help from the CRC in order to escape. I sent a coded message off yesterday. With luck, agents will be able to rescue me inside of two weeks. I hope it’s two weeks. I don’t think I can make it if it’s any longer.
