To other autistic people, in the media, is there anything you’d like to see in an autistic character that you feel hasn’t really been covered/portrayed yet?

Autistic women of color

Autistic people of color in general

Autistics who are unsure of gender norms, because really.

Autistics who are politically vocal.

Autistics who have trouble with STEM subjects.

Autistics who are the main character, not to show how peculiar they are and explain them to everyone else, but who are main characters being humans who recognize the rest of the world is no more together than they are.

And if that’s been done, I say it hasn’t been done nearly enough or for enough different kinds of Autistics.

An autistic hero(ine) who is not a magic minority but actually has work-arounds for their problems and is trying to fit in but winds up being weird anyway.
