In short, the comic industry doesn’t want female-led movies for the same reason Nintendo doesn’t want any movies of their works: “We tried a little before and it sucked, so we’re not gonna try anymore”.

So walk me through the logic, here…

1. Under-budget and under-sell female superhero movies because you don’t believe in them

2. Cast eye-candy “talent” in the lead role who can barely act their way out of a paper bag

3. Have a script that should have stayed in the garbage

4. Use the resultant poor box office to justify never making another female superhero movie
