Daily OpusEverything I write is freely rebloggable. Just keep the source and tell people about my books :D [Until I decide otherwise, my pronouns are Ze/Hir/Hirself. As in "Ze went to the shops to get hir medication hirself". Thank you for the respect.]
Hey it’s trans Day of visibility so i just wanna post this again
Transition related expenses are gonna be a lot harder soon because the government’s cutting everyones benefits and I’m gonna be living in poverty again
I have literally no savings and tbh it’s hard to even afford food let alone doctors visits and hormones right now so please consider sharing this around, if it gets funded that would seriously be life-changing
Reminds me of my coworker who, whenever she sees a Tesla at a gas station or something, she’ll look over and go “Wow! The new Toyotas look really cool!”
Something important I need everyone to know is making me lose it is the fact that Ever Given is, unfortunately, free, but it is also free thanks to the full moon keeping the tides up. the first full moon of March is called the Worm Moon.
The Suez Canal has been opened for traffic thanks to the celestial powers of the SUPER WORM MOON and the sheer comedy of this is sending me. Happy pass over
Image of a text that reads: In conversation with some coworkers, today, one of them said that homeless people should have to work for their meals just like the rest of us.
I said, “Okay, I know a man who is homeless. He’d be happy to work. He’s got a business degree. He would be happy to come clean your house, do your yard work, or help you with your filing, walk your dogs, babysit your kids, or just about any office job. What time tomorrow should he come see you?”
They all just looked at me.
I said, “Mind you, he’s homeless, so he hasn’t showered in a while and the only clothes he has are the ones on his back because he lost all his stuff last week when ge got picked up for vagrancy and they wouldn’t let him go back for his bag. It would be a few weeks before what you are paying him is enough to get shelter and such.”
And still they stared at me.
I finished, “See? It isn’t that easy. He can’t get a job because he’s homeless with no access to hot water or clean clothes. He can’t get access to shelter, hot water or clean clothes without a job. You want him to work for his meals? Give him a hand out of the vicious circle. Stop pretending that all he has to do is get a job.”
Unhoused people are not intruders into our communities, they are our communities’ failure to take care of their own.
There is a massive pipeline underway in northern Minnesota that violates Indigenous rights and would carry the pollution equivalent to 50 coal power plants.
The bulldozers have arrived to plow through sacred wild rice watersheds, over 800 wetlands, and 200+ bodies of water. Indigenous water protectors are fighting to protect their land, but the drones are overhead and the police are militarizing.
President-Elect Biden has the power to stop this project on day one. He can review the permits granted by Trump and halt Line 3 construction immediately.
This will be the first climate test for his administration and we are making it clear that the Keystone XL, Dakota Access, and Line 3 pipelines must be stopped.
(hope this addition is ok to make) this document (taken from @/resistline3 on twitter) offers a variety of other ways to help based on your ability/availability, & here’s a quick link to the stopline3 linktree, which has several fundraisers listed if you’re looking to offer monetary support
