This may be disappointing information but these are all larvae of entirely different looking fish! A lot of fish in the deep sea have transparent larvae with oversized fins. A lot of fish outside the abyss also have larvae like these that develop in the abyss anyway.
I don’t know what the first three turn into but the fourth is probably a species of deep sea pelican flounder, here’s the baby of another species in the same group:
From around the world, tieflings were vanishing. Sometimes just fading away, sometimes disappearing in a gout of flame, but they were not dying. They called them… the loveless lands. It was a realm of monsters. A pit of despair. Travellers refused to go near them. Those who shipwrecked on its shores never came back. The brothers Merrimine were lucky they were together with both loved ones when the ritual hit them. There had been warnings. Rumours. Gossip. Tieflings and other unwanted monsters all over the land were vanishing. Some in fire. Some in smoke. Some vanishing slowly, some disappearing between one pace and the next, as if they walked into another reality. When the wave of the distant spell hit a Tiefling courtier in the same room, both reached out. One arm clinging to his brother, the other desperately grabbing his lady love.
Whatever happened next, they were going to face it together. They clenched their grips and gritted their teeth… and opened their eyes in another land. They were surrounded by a lot of very confused Tieflings and a very few equally confused Humans. The only ones not confused were the ones too young to understand. Far too many of the howling infant Tieflings were covered in midden muck instead of swaddling clothes. As one, the Merrimine brothers and their fiancees cried out and dove for the most helpless and needing of the infants. All four of them had a baby in each arm and no idea of what to do next.
Others around them were similarly galvinised. The panic of the grown and the need of the small almost overwhelmed them. Tieflings from all walks of life and their rare Human companions did their best to help. The children capable of looking after themselves formed into clusters. Trusting a stranger who looked like them more than a stranger twice their size. Many of them had met ill fates from adults and were shy of trusting them.
The senate just adopted an amendment that lets them dissolve any organisation that would plan a meeting (even an informal one) without white people, we really are in a undisguised fascist state
The exact text is about “forbidding people from attending a meeting based on their religion, their ethnicity or their race” but it’s been in reaction to a student union making groups for poc to be able to talk about the racism they’re victims of, it’s very transparent that they’re destroying whatever small room there was for poc and non-Christians to talk about their oppression
i should note that in the same bill they passed a law forbidding mothers wearing the hijab from accompanying their kids on school trips, as well as criminalizing minors from wearing the hijab in public spaces.
this bill is penned as being “against separatism” but its aimed almost exclusively against people of color and muslim people organizing, whether it is against their oppression or against regular community events. this is part of a trend from the french government in the past few years, which saw ministers attack even tiny groups and unions that host poc-only events even when it’s to discuss their own experiences, as well as trying to criminalize muslims who try to exist visibly in public spaces. this “anti separatist bill”, along with a number of laws that aim reinforce the police state and repress any opposition, is brought to you by macron’s hyper liberal government with VERY little opposition from left wing parties. meanwhile, the openly fascist and white supremacist party keeps gaining more support in polls.
