Right now in the US full time hourly amazon works only receive 48 hours of PTO a year. 10 shifts means that isn’t even enough to take 5 entire days in the whole year. Obviously this doesn’t UPT or Vacation but those are slim also. Okay I’m done ranting… For now.
  28. flowerworshipping said: Unions are an amazing tool in improving workers rights, and bettering your workplace conditions but if you want to see every worker in America working for a company big or small have the same basic rights like garenteed breaks and PTO you need to push this as federal legislation. Or even push to better your states workers rights! If you want to see safer work condition then push to put money and support back into OSHA who at this point is a declawed and toothless tiger.
  29. flowerworshipping said: LIKE BREAKS AND LUNCHES! At the federal level there is no protections for adults to receive breaks or lunches no matter the number of hours they work! It’s left to be a state to state decision! In PA you don’t have to be given one. Companies that offer jobs here that are not in the public eye like amazon can get away with having workers there for 10-12hours with little more than maybe a 15 minute break. Workers at other companies don’t get any PTO!
  30. flowerworshipping said: Idk as a person inside of amazon I’m tired of seeing people be upset at the wrong things.
  31. flowerworshipping said: I’m not trying to defend this but everyone in the notes losing their mind about the 10& half hour shift ‘megacycle’ needs to know that it really isn’t a big deal. Most buildings network wide in the US work 10hours (having context matters). You work 4 10hour shifts & get 3 days off vs your typical 5day 8hour shift. Unions are amazing! Workers rights is so important! But I never see people pushing for more legislation for better workplaces! That’s what needs to happen also.
